The 2017 Indoor Cricket World Cup in Dubai was the first time the England 21 and Under girls competed at a world event (the category was previously Under 19s girls). The girls managed to win two of their nine group games in Dubai, beating South Africa 21 and Under girls twice. They advanced from the group stages to play New Zealand in the Semi Final of the tournament and although the girls did not win the semi final, they did manage to win 1 skin. The girls have since been working and training hard to prepare for the next Indoor World Cup, that was scheduled to be held in Melbourne, Australia in 2020. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the World Cup was unable to take place in 2020, but the girls took this extra time to work harder than ever in preparation for the rearranged World Cup with the help of their coach David Brown.
