JUNIOR EMERGING PLAYERS PATHWAY 26-27

AICE Junior Emerging Player Pathway | 2026/27

Develop your game, grow in confidence and take your next step towards representing England.

The AICE Junior Emerging Player Pathway brings together selected young cricketers for a structured programme of specialist indoor cricket coaching, personal development and team preparation. Our aim is to help players become more skilful, confident and adaptable cricketers, while developing the habits and character needed to progress within the England pathway.

The 2026/27 season marks the start of our three-year development cycle towards the 2029 Junior World Series in Colombo, Sri Lanka. This is an opportunity to build strong foundations, learn from experienced indoor cricket coaches and develop alongside other ambitious young players.

This programme is for selected players only. Please enrol only if your child has received formal confirmation of their selection for the 2026/27 Junior EPP. This booking is not for an open trial.

What will players develop?

Our coaching will focus on the demands of indoor cricket, combining technical development with tactical understanding, mental skills and teamwork.

Indoor cricket skills and game awareness

Players will work on the skills that make a difference on an indoor court: controlled batting, using the nets effectively, building partnerships, running between the wickets, bowling accuracy and variation, catching, throwing and fielding movement. Training will also develop an understanding of scoring opportunities, field placements and decision-making in different match situations.

Confidence, composure and mental skills

Learning to handle pressure is an important part of a young player’s development. The programme will encourage players to trust their preparation, maintain focus, respond positively to mistakes and approach challenges with confidence. We want players to feel able to ask questions, try new skills and learn from every session.

Teamwork, preparation and responsibility

Indoor cricket requires every player to contribute. Communication, supporting teammates and putting the team first will be central to the programme, alongside good preparation, respect for others and taking responsibility for personal improvement.

Throughout the pathway, we want players to enjoy their cricket, build lasting friendships and feel supported as they develop.

Building towards Sri Lanka 2029

The Junior EPP forms part of our preparation for the next Junior World Series, with potential annual overseas development tours during the three-year cycle.

These opportunities could allow players to experience international opposition, develop their independence and learn about the demands and excitement of touring as part of a team.

Overseas tours remain subject to confirmation. Tour details, costs and selection arrangements will be communicated separately. Enrolment in the EPP does not guarantee selection for an overseas tour or a future Junior World Series squad.
